To make your Instagram account private, follow these steps:

Open the Instagram app and go to your profile.
Tap the three horizontal lines at the top right of the screen.
Select "Settings"
Tap "Privacy"
Toggle on the "Private Account" option.
After turning on the private account feature, only approved followers will be able to see your posts, profile and stories.
